Heartworm Fundraiser a success!

This past Tuesday, we had our monthly Quarter Auction to raise money for 8 dogs infected with heartworms at the SPCA.  We are thrilled that not only did we reach our goal to raise $1000 needed for the medicine, but we were able to raise a little more than the $1000, which means additional dogs that enter the shelter who are infected can be treated because of your generosity.

This month’s auction was the best turnout we have had, and we hope you’ll attend upcoming auctions and make this monthly event a great fundraiser for our cause.  For questions about the auction, you can always contact Jennifer at info@shelteredpaws.com, and also visit our events calendar to see when the next one is scheduled.

2010 SPDR Sand Volleyball Tournament

On June 22, we had our annual Sheltered Paws sand volleyball tournament at Northwest Lanes.  This years event not only had great weather, but also raised over $1600 for Sheltered Paws!  Plus, we have a few pending adoptions from those in the crowd who were able to see some of our wonderful dogs.  A special thanks to Kara Kees for coordinating this awesome event.  I am sure there are others as well who helped that I do not have names for, but you are greatly appreciated as well for your time in making these events as successful as they are.

National Volunteer Week

April 18 – 24 is National Volunteer Week and time to celebrate your volunteers and yourself! Everyone in animal welfare stretches above and beyond any job requirements – making us all volunteers in one way or another. Make some time this week to say thank you to your volunteers, whether though a small party, a simple card and note or just remembering to say thank you at least once a day. And while you’re at it, thank yourself too!
